COLUMBUS 95, INDIANAPOLIS 92: (Columbus, Ohio) - In a heated contest between two clubs vying for the second seed in the North Division, the game definitely lived up to its billing, in terms of sheer competition and entertainment. After a 22-3 run midway through the third quarter, that gave Columbus a 15-point lead, a furious fourth quarter rally by Indianapolis put the home team on alert, as the visitors tied the game at 88-88 with under 90 seconds left in the contest. But after a critical Columbus three pointer in the final minute, followed by a successful conversion of free throws, it was Columbus' defense who pulled through, preventing a good look for Indianapolis from outside on the final possession, as the home team held on to earn their fifth victory of the season; clinching the second seed in the playoffs. Columbus (5-3) was led by Tihon Johnson (24 points), Brett McKnight (22 points), and Trent Weaver (20 points). Indianapolis (4-4) was led by Jaylon Moore (28 points), Chrishawn Hopkins (23 points), and Anthony White (17 points).
MIDDLE TENNESSEE 114, MEMPHIS 106: (Memphis, Tenn.) - Although this afternoon's game had no impact in the postseason picture, there was much pride on the line between the two Tennessee rivals. In a back-and-forth affair, it was a late 12-0 run by Middle Tennessee in the final minute that pushed the visitors on top. Middle Tennessee (7-1), which posted its best regular season record in the team's four year history, was led by four players scoring 20-plus points: Roy McFadgon (30 points), Torye Pelham (26 points), Frank Thaxton (21 points), and George Stanberry (20 points). Memphis (4-4) was led by Mario Cain (27 points), Tavin Cummings (19 points), Keith Barron (17 points), and Myron Strong (16 points).
