With the 27th pick of the 2016 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors selected 6-foot-10 center, Pascal Siakam, who averaged 20.2 points per game, 11.6 rebounds per game, and 2.2 blocks per game in his senior year at New Mexico State.
If the last name sounds familiar, it is because Pascal is the younger brother of Boris Siakam and Christian Siakam, both of whom played with the Bowling Green Hornets in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
The eldest brother, Boris, who played collegiate basketball at Western Kentucky University, averaged 24.5 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game with Bowling Green, including scoring a game-high 28 points in the 2013 Championship game in St. Louis. The 6-foot-8 forward then played professionally in Bahrain later that year at the conclusion of the Hornets' season, his final year in the Middle East after eight years of competition. Last year, he capped off his professional career by representing his home country of Cameroon in the 2015 FIBA AfroBasket Tournament in Tunisia.
The second brother, Christian, who played collegiate basketball at NCAA Division-I IUPUI, joined Bowling Green in 2014, where he averaged 6.0 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. After the season, the 6-foot-7 forward was signed to a professional contract in Malaysia. Prior to playing in the CBA, he played three seasons in Bahrain, where he averaged 23.5 points per game and 16.0 rebounds per game.
Pascal has a third elder brother, James Siakam, who played for Vanderbilt University from 2011-2015. The 6-foot-7 forward was signed by the Delaware 76ers of the NBA D-League following his senior year of college and is currently on the Orlando Magic's 2016 NBA Summer League squad.
