Former Bowling Green Hornets' center, A'Darius Pegues, receives opportunity with Ugandan National Team

A'Darius Pegues, the 6-foot-10 center who played for the Bowling Green Hornets during the 2014 and 2015 CBA seasons, has received an contract to play for the Uganda National Team. 

Pegues will be looking to lead his Uganda club to the 2017 FIBA AfroBasket qualifying championship this week in Egypt.

Last year, former Bowling Green Hornets forward, Boris Siakam, played for the Cameroon National Team during the 2016 FIBA AfroBasket championship in Tunisia. 

The former Western Kentucky University and Campbellsville University big-man, Pegues, averaged 11.0 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, and 4.0 blocks per game during the 2015 CBA season with Bowling Green. 

After playing in the CBA, Pegues has had numerous international opportunities, including participating in the CBA Global Opportunities Program in Taiwan in 2015 and Dubai in 2016. Furthermore, he has also received contracts in Slovakia, Latvia, Mexico, Malaysia, and Canada, as well as offers from clubs in Tunisia and Israel. 

With 171 league players receiving international opportunities since 2013, including five now in Africa, the CBA continues to be the leader in minor league basketball in advancing the careers of aspiring young basketball players in the United States.
