Indianapolis fights off furious Mississippi comeback; Middle Tennessee routs Bowling Green

INDIANAPOLIS 90, MISSISSIPPI 87: (Indianapolis, Ind.) - In the first meeting between the two teams, things could not have gone better for Indianapolis as they took a 15-point lead at halftime, and led by as many as 17 points early in the third frame. Mississippi rallied back to cut the deficit to one late in the period, before Indianapolis extended the lead back to double-digits in the fourth quarter behind Anthony White (23 points) and Chrishawn Hopkins (19 points). But Mississippi, behind Anthony Jones (25 points) and Jerry Hampton (16 points), made a second comeback late in the final period to make it 88-87 Indianapolis. In the final 90 seconds; however, Mississippi came out empty handed on four possessions and let a chance to take the lead slip away, as Indianapolis held on for a three-point victory. Indianapolis (1-0) travels to Fort Wayne Sunday afternoon, while Mississippi (0-1) completes the second game of their road with a matchup against Illinois tomorrow afternoon as well. 

MIDDLE TENNESSEE 119, BOWLING GREEN 90: (Nashville, Tenn.) - In a game that featured the 2014 league champions versus the 2015 league champions, the game turned into a lopsided affair very early. Middle Tennessee used a barrage of outside shooting to take a 10-point lead into halftime, followed by a 12-0 run to start the second half. Behind Myles Thrash (34 points) and Roy McFadgon (24 points), Middle Tennessee (1-0) continued the rout in the final frame, leading by as many as 38 points, before handing Bowling Green its worst loss in the team's five year history. Bowling Green (0-1) was led by Fred Sturdivant (19 points) and Chris Kopooshian (17 points). Middle Tennessee will play a home-and-home next weekend with Mississippi, while Bowling Green will undergo an early season bye week.
