CBA players in Antigua, part of league's partnership with Caribbean, set to make season debut tonight

At the beginning of this month, eight league players traveled to the island of Antigua and Barbuda, as part of the 2017-2018 CBA Global Opportunities Program, to seek a chance to play basketball in the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association (ABBA) National League season in 2018. 

Within one week of arriving in the country, all eight players were picked up by different organizations, and after two weeks of practices and training camp, seven of the eight players will make their season debut tonight. GAME 1: Sunday, January 21, 2018

Ottos Full Throttle vs. Flyers 

(6:45 p.m. local time, 5:45 p.m. Eastern time, 4:45 p.m. Central Time)

The Ottos Full Throttle, who finished last year with a 5-11 regular season record, feature three players from the league: Bowling Green Hornets' guard Brandon Williams, who played in the CBA in 2014, Bowling Green Hornets' guard Isaac Bragg, who participated in the 2016-17 CBA Global Opportunities Program in Taiwan as a non-CBA invitee before joining the CBA for the 2017 season, and guard Yahshua Perez, who is a non-CBA invitee in this year's Global Opportunities Program. 

The Flyers, who finished last year with a 13-3 record, and lost in the 2017 finals, feature two players from the CBA: Baltimore Shuckers' forward Torey Fassett, who played in the CBA in 2017, and Bowling Green Hornets' guard Damarius Smith, who played in the CBA from 2015 to 2017.

Baldwin Braves v. Potters Steelers

(8:00 p.m. local time, 7:00 p.m. Eastern time, 6:00 p.m. Central Time)

The Potters Steelers, who won the Division-II championship last year, were promoted to Division-I this year and feature two CBA players: Baltimore Shuckers' forward Benny Iko, who played in the CBA in 2017, and Springfield Sentinels' forward Joshua Minner, who played in the CBA in 2015 and participated in the 2015-2016 CBA Global Opportunities Program in Brazil. 

The Baldwin Braves are the ABBA defending national champions. 

The F&G Trading Cuties Oval Ojays, who feature the final CBA player: Baltimore Shuckers' guard, Jermaine Bolden, will make their season debut next week.
