Peoria Panthers

Regular Season 2013

The River City Panthers, based out of Peoria, Illinois, just completed their first season in the league. Although their 1-6 record may have put them out of contention for the league title game early on in the season, the Panthers were the youngest and most athletic out of the four teams in the league in 2013. In fact, the Panthers had three All-Star selections, where Mike Gills made 1st-team All Star, and fellow teammates Brandon Lee and Jason Angels represented River City as 2nd-team All-Star selections.

The Panthers look to develop their young squad even more in the 2014 season, as they build a team around young phenom: Mike Gills. Gills, who was a contender for League Most Valuable Player, scored the most points in a game by any league player with 39 points, led the league in rebounds per game, and was only one of two players in the league to average double-digits in both points and rebounds.

Unlike other teams that have come and gone in the Peoria area, the Panthers have established a solid foothold in the market, establishing positive relationships with the community and local businesses, and look forward to building their fan base even more come next season.
