Weekend Preview: Chattanooga looks to wrap up regular season title for second consecutive year

With two victories this weekend, coupled with one Mississippi loss and one Bowling Green loss, the Chattanooga Rail Runners will clinch their second consecutive regular season title and the top-seed in the 2015 CBA Playoffs. 

The remaining seven seeds are still up-for-grabs and will likely not be finalized until next weekend. 

Chattanooga Rail Runners (4-1) at Peoria Panthers (1-5)

When: Saturday, May 2 at 6:00 p.m. Central Time

Where: Hickory Grove School / Dunlap High School (2514 West Hickory Grove Road, Dunlap, IL)

Last game: Chattanooga defeated Fort Wayne, 100-86, at home on April 19. Peoria lost to Springfield on the road, 96-63, on April 26.  

Home/Road Record: Chattanooga is 0-1 on the road; Peoria is 1-2 at home. 

History: This is the first official matchup between the two clubs. 

 

Fort Wayne Flite (4-2) at Bowling Green Hornets (3-2)

When: Saturday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. Central Time

Where: Logan County High School (2200 Bowling Green Road, Russellville, KY)

Last game: Bowling Green lost to Memphis 108-99 on the road on April 26; Fort Wayne defeated Middle Tennessee, 97-88, at home on April 26. 

Home/Road Record: Fort Wayne is 1-2 on the road; Bowling Green is 2-0 at home. 

History: This is the third meeting between the two clubs, with the series even at 1-1. In their last matchup in Fort Wayne on May 10, 2014, the Flite defeated the Hornets in the regular-season finale, 114-101, to not only clinch a post-season berth for themselves, but also knock the Hornets out of playoff qualification. This is their first meeting in Russellville, as Bowling Green defeated Fort Wayne at Lindsey Wilson College last season in Columbia, Kentucky, 108-99.  

 

Middle Tennessee Storm (3-2) at Mississippi Eagles (3-2)

When: Saturday, May 2 at 8:00 p.m. Central Time

Where: Streets Ministries Center (430 Vance Avenue, Memphis, TN)

Last game: Middle Tennessee lost to Fort Wayne on the road, 97-88, on April 26. Mississippi defeated Memphis, 104-102, at home on April 25.   

Home/Road Record: Middle Tennessee is 0-2 on the road; Mississippi is 1-1 at home. 

History: This is the first official matchup between the two clubs.

 

Chattanooga Rail Runners (4-1) at Springfield Sentinels (1-5)

When: Sunday, May 3 at 3:00 p.m. Central Time

Where: Lutheran High School (3500 West Washington Street, Springfield, IL)

Last game: Chattanooga defeated Fort Wayne, 100-86, at home on April 19. Springfield defeated Peoria at home, 96-63, on April 26.  

Home/Road Record: Chattanooga is 0-1 on the road; Springfield is 1-2 at home. 

History: This is the first official matchup between the two clubs. 

 

Mississippi Eagles (3-2) at Memphis Soul Kings (3-3)

When: Sunday, May 3 at 4:00 p.m. Central Time

Where: Boulevard Center (70 N. Bellevue Blvd, Memphis, TN)

Last game: Mississippi defeated Memphis, 104-102, at home on April 25. Memphis outlasted Bowling Green, 108-99, at home on April 26. 

Home/Road Record: Mississippi is 2-1 on the road; Memphis is 2-0 at home. 

History: This is the second matchup between the two clubs. Mississippi defeated Memphis, 104-102, at home last Saturday, April 25. 

 

Bowling Green Hornets (3-2) at Middle Tennessee Storm (3-2)

When: Sunday, May 3 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time

Where: Fisk University (1000 17th Avenue, Nashville, TN)

Last game: Middle Tennessee lost to Fort Wayne on the road, 97-88, on April 26. Bowling Green lost to Memphis, 108-99, on the road on April 26.   

Home/Road Record: Bowling Green is 1-2 on the road; Middle Tennessee is 3-0 at home. 

History: This is the seventh matchup between the two clubs in the last three seasons, with the overall series tied at 3-3. In their last matchup, Bowling Green defeated the Middle Tennessee Storm 106-97 in Nashville on April 5, 2014. The two teams have split 2-2 in their series in Nashville, with both teams playing against one another three times each in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
