When the Mississippi Eagles recruited former University of Arkansas guard, Mardracus Wade, prior to the start of the 2015 CBA season, it was widely expected that the he would not only be one of the top players in the league, but also receive many opportunities following the CBA season. Wade did not disappoint his supporters.

In May, Wade won the 2015 CBA Most Valuable Player Award, where he was second in the CBA in total points scored (178), second in the league in total steals (23), sixth in the league in total assists (30), and scored the most points in a regular season game this season (40). He finished the 2015 season averaging 22.2 points per game, 3.8 assists per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, and 2.9 steals per game.

In September, three months into the league offseason, the 6-foot-2 guard, received an opportunity to play in Taiwan, through the CBA's Global Opportunities Program, where he helped the CBA Global Team to two victories versus Mongolia and Japan.

Now, on the final day of October, the 25-year-old Memphis-native has received yet another opportunity in the right direction, as he has earned a position on the training camp roster in the NBA D-League with the Iowa Energy. The Energy are the D-League affiliate for the Memphis Grizzlies.

From his days in the SEC with the Arkansas Razorbacks, to playing in Mexico in 2014, to joining the Mississippi Eagles in the Central Basketball Association in 2015, to playing in Taiwan, and now being one step closer to the NBA, Wade has continued to persevere and work hard to reach his lifelong ambitions. He becomes the fourth player from the CBA this year to receive an NBA D-League opportunity, joining former Mississippi Eagles' teammates, Sampson Carter (Canton Charge) and Jeremy Williams (Idaho Stampede), as well as, Bowling Green Hornets', Brandon Harris (Oklahoma City Blue).
