Every basketball athlete has the dream of becoming a successful professional player, where they can earn a living doing what they love the most.
Unfortunately, many athletes are steered the wrong way by corrupt agents, misinformed teams, or leagues that provide false hope and lack of direction.
The Central Basketball Association is a minor league basketball brand that not only helps players develop their skills on the court, through experienced coaching, professional videography, and detailed statistics, but also uses its business networking connections to provide the platform for career advancement for its players with valuable tryout opportunities abroad.
It is no coincidence that since 2013, over 200 CBA players have received opportunities to play on international soil or within the NBA, whether it be in an exhibition match, a tournament, or a private workout. Of these players, over 125 athletes have received contracts. And these numbers are expected to grow exponentially as the CBA increases its global influence.
Below are the opportunities that were available for CBA players for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 offseasons. For the 2017-2018 offseason, the CBA traveled to the Caribbean Island of Antigua & Barbuda in a landmark bi-lateral partnership with the nation.
The registration for the 2018-2019 CBA Global Opportunities Program is currently open. The registration link, which will be published on that date, will allow both CBA players and non-CBA players to register, respectively, where everyone can seize the opportunity to directly overseas and showcase their talents in front of international teams, coaches, general managers, and ownership groups.
The Registration "Global Opportunities" is not currently available.
When individuals think of the Caribbean, they dream of exotic beaches, warm weather, and immense relaxation. Because the islands are close to the United States mainland, it allows one to be away from home, but not too far away.
With the CBA establishing its influence in the island of Antigua and Barbuda, through the cooperation with the Antigua and Barbuda Basketball Association and FIBA Americas, this provides an excellent opportunity for CBA players to get their foot in the door in an international setting.
During the three-day event in the Caribbean, a set of CBA players will have the opportunity to engage in a competitive tournament involving the national teams and premier clubs within Antigua, as well as potentially the other surrounding Caribbean islands. Players will compete in two to three competitive exhibition games, with the chance obtaining a contract with a local team, as well as the opportunity to further enhance and develop basketball on the island.

One of the most amazing wonders of the world resides in the Down Under, as Australia serves as an exotic land on the other side of the world that very few Americans are able to get to.
During the two-week event, a set of CBA players will have the opportunity to engage in competition involving the premier clubs within the country, including teams from the Australian Basketball Association, SEABL, Big-V, NBL-Australia, etc.. Players will compete in six to eight competitive exhibition games, with the chance obtaining a contract with a local team in Australia, in preparation for their season which begins in March 2018.

Many athletes take advantage of opportunities to go to China; however, what individuals do not realize is that very rarely are athletes from minor league basketball organizations signed in China, as they are mostly brought into the country for entertainment purposes. On the other hand, Taiwan is the nation that is hungry for American athletes, which has allowed the CBA to develop the proper partnerships to take advantage of this opportunity.
During the ten-day event in Taiwan, a set of CBA players will have the opportunity to engage in a competitive tournament involving the national teams and premier clubs of at least half a dozen Asian nations. Players will compete in at least three competitive opening round games, with the chance to advance to the semi-finals and finals. The games will be internationally televised and will feature scouts and coaches from dozens of teams in Asia, including, but not limited to: Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Mongolia, and Vietnam.
Although the Middle East is primarily known for soccer, the popularity of the sport of basketball has been steadily growing. Through the start of a potentially long-term relationship, the CBA has been awarded the opportunity to field a team in a well-known FIBA Tournament in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
During the two-week tour event, a 10-player CBA team will have the opportunity to compete against the top national teams and top local clubs of the Middle East. The internationally-televised event will feature scouts from at least the following nations: Egypt, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Players will arrive in Dubai and will compete in at least three preliminary round games against various countries on their schedule. The top clubs from the opening round robin matches will advance to the semi-finals and the two winners who advance will compete in the championship game. Last season, the title game featured the two most prominent clubs from Lebanon.
Some players want the advantage of playing professionally on an international scale, but want to also be close to home. The CBA's relationship with various partners south of the border in Mexico, gives opportunities for those seeking a career path where they are in close proximity to the American lifestyle.
During the three-day workout event, players from the CBA will have the opportunity to showcase their talent in a combine-style environment, where they will play half a dozen games in front of various teams, scouts, and representatives from Mexico's regional leagues, CIBACOPA league, and the country's top basketball league: LNBP.
With the inception of CBA Brasil, a professional league developed by the CBA with its partners in South America which is set to debut in late October 2015, the CBA will be providing opportunities for its players to be the initial representatives of the league to kickstart the 2015-2016 CBA Brazil season.
During the nine-day tour event, a 10-player CBA team will arrive in Sao Paulo, Brazil and play at least three games versus CBA Brazil teams in Sao Paulo, Sao Carlos and Salvador-Bahia. Players will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in a competitive environment in front of the two dozen CBA Brazil teams or scouts from the NBB League, which is currently the top basketball league in Brazil. Furthermore, players will be given the opportunities to promote themselves through various scheduled interviews and press conferences with the local and national media. All competition will be nationally broadcasted within Brazil for maximum domestic exposure.
Chile, as one of the most underrated regions in the world for basketball, provides a great opportunity for aspiring athletes to begin their international careers.

Since the inception of the Central Basketball Association, nearly 200 players have been given, or currently in the process of receiving, opportunities to engage in competition in a foreign country, or in the NBA and NBA D-League. Whether it be via a tryout, a tour event, or a series of exhibition matches, the CBA has helped provide a platform for players to get scouted inside and outside the United States.
